Summer Food Service Program 101

 Child Nutrition Program- administered by CDE OSN  Ensures children receive nutritious meals during the summer  Free meals are provided to children at approved sites Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Overview 2

Must meet eligibility requirements  Open site: serves all children in the area  located in an area where 50% or more of the children residing in the area are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals (area eligibility)  Closed-enrolled site: open only to enrolled children  Eligibility based on area eligibility or household income forms  Camp: offer food service as part of an organized program  Eligibility based on household income forms  To determine site eligibility: Site Eligibility Requirements 7
