Retaining pregnant & breastfeeding women and girls Paediatric treatment CHILDREN (0-9) & MOTHERS: Gaps ··· FIRST DECADE ··· 3 in 5 pregnant and breastfeeding women living with HIV received ART in 2014, but retention in care remains poor. All children living with HIV should be on treatment, or 50% will die before 2; and 80% before 5. Of the 2.6M children under 15 living with HIV, 1 in 3 are on treatment.

Retention Testing and Linkage to Treatment & Care HIV Prevention ADOLESCENTS (10-19): Gaps Majority of these deaths are among adolescents who vertically acquired HIV as babies. They either did not know their HIV status or have slipped out of care, AIDS is the #1 cause of adolescent deaths in Africa. And the #2 cause of adolescent deaths globally. Every hour 26 new infections happen among adolescents. HIV is a global issue when it comes to prevention among adolescents. 70% of boys & girls years in sub-Saharan Africa do not have comprehensive HIV knowledge.

HIV-Sensitive Social Protection, Care and Support Risk-Informed HIV Programming ACROSS DECADES: Gaps ··· ACROSS DECADES ··· Support is required to maintain treatment of 1.7 million+ children (0-14) and pregnant women living with HIV. In 2013, over a quarter million children and pregnant women living with HIV were affected by emergencies. Flood Conflict Drought
