The Two Stones That Block The Power Of The Resurrection Matthew 28:1-6

Resurrection Sunday “Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.

Resurrection Sunday His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday Do you know that God didn't want you to just celebrate His resurrection but to experience it in your everyday life?

Resurrection Sunday “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday Great things happen in the dark!

Resurrection Sunday David said it like this: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms‬ ‭23:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday The greatest trap of the enemy is to get you to lose your ability to see in the dark.

Resurrection Sunday Darkness is not an easy process but it is a necessary process in order for you to experience resurrection. “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday Paul states it like this: “that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,”. Philippians‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday 1.The stone in our hearts.

Resurrection Sunday God desires to live and reign in our hearts

Resurrection Sunday A stony heart is a heart that is unhealthy. It is a heart that would rather resurrect the actions and behaviors of those who hurt us than live in the resurrection power of Christ.

Resurrection Sunday Christ resurrection says to those who have hurt us you have no power over me. My power comes from God.

Resurrection Sunday Your heart will take you further than your gift ever will. -- Christine Cain

Resurrection Sunday “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” Ezekiel‬ ‭36:25-27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday 2. The stone of unbelief

Resurrection Sunday Of all the things that could block a move of God in your life or block us from experiencing the power of the resurrection in our lives, unbelief must be at the top of the list.

Resurrection Sunday “And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.” Matthew‬ ‭13:58‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Resurrection Sunday Unbelief grows because we become comfortable with the way life is thus we settle for not wanting anything to change.

Resurrection Sunday "I believe, help my unbelief"

Resurrection Sunday My questions I pose to you today: Do you believe in God? Do you believe in the power of the resurrection? Do you believe that you can walk in the power of the resurrection?

Resurrection Sunday Application: Will you roll back the stone on your heart? Will you roll back the stone of unbelief?

Resurrection Sunday Prayer: Father, forgive me for having a heart of stone. Forgive me for living in unbelief. Today, I'm rolling back the stone on my heart and the stone of unbelief and asking you to take over.

Resurrection Sunday Live in my heart and help my unbelief. I want to experience the power of the resurrection in my life. Sit on the stones that I have rolled back and help me to trust you completely. In Jesus Name, Amen!
