Founded in 1952 by Colin Chapman They are a British based company They manufacture sports and racing cars. They also own the engineering consultancy Lotus Engineering.

He is an American engineer. Former executive of Boeing. He was Ceo of Ford Motor company from sept.5, 2006 to sept.2013.

This person is in tune with him or herself, and the people they work with. They create a sense of resonance in the workplace, so great work can be accomplished. These leaders work at developing their emotional intelligence

He is a great leader that shows emotional intelligence. He inspired and motivated his team to come up with some solutions to solve the various problems that Ford was having. Even though he had no experience with cars what he did know was how to interact with people.

Ceo of Lotus from Sept to June of He was employed by Ferrari.

They maintain a greater social and emotional distance from employees. Can cause emotional frustration, stress, burnout and disengagement among employees.

He was very distant from his employees. He had no prior experience with employee interaction. He was all about producing the end product. When he was in contact with his employees, he caused a lot of frustration among the organization.

Mulally was the only CEO of an American car manufacturer to avoid a bailout from the government. While at Ford he implemented a color system which allowed all of his employees to asses any problems that Ford was having and come up with ideas on how to solve the problems. Mulally's cost-cutting initiatives led to the company's first profitable quarter in two years.

He started out positive with fresh ideas. He implemented a five year business plan to return the company to profit. Bahar also reignited Lotus’ motorsport activities. When new owner took over he began showing signs of being distant. His distance was the beginning of the company’s financial downfall.

Buy Ford stock If Lotus was a publicly traded company they said to avoid buying the stock.

The overall consumer image of Ford is good. The overall consumer image of Lotus is bad.

Ford Motors has shown that a great leader was all that they needed to become profitable again. Alan Mulally was that leader. He came into a company not knowing anything about cars and turned the company around in a matter of months. He had a good support team. They believed in him, thus helping him believe in himself, which in turn helped the company prosper.

Unfortunately Lotus didn’t have the same outcome in regards to having a great leader. He didn’t have that emotional connection with his employees like Alan Mulally did. This is due to the lack of a support system throughout the company. Dany Bahar basically gave up on the company, because he felt like everything that he tried or suggested was opposed. All Dany Bahar had to do is interact with his workers and show some emotional intelligence. If he did that then the outcome would have been different.
