The Great News Message (Rom 1.2 – 5) Concerning God’s Son … promised long ago in OT … descended from King David … crucified … raised from the dead in Power by the HS SO THAT – we might have FAITH in Jesus – we grow in OBEDIENCE to Him as Lord

Great Summary of Romans For I am not ashamed of the Gospel – for it is the POWER of God for SALVATION – to everyone who believes (FAITH) to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is REVEALED from FAITH to FAITH, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by FAITH’ Romans 1.16 – 17

God’s Wrath revealed on … the Ignorant (2.12 – 16) if people have never heard about Jesus? God will judge by what people do know laws of their heart & conscience The verdict : God’s judgement will be perfect & just through Jesus Christ (2.16)

God’s Wrath revealed on … the Religious (Jew) (2.17 – 3.8) morally decent (relying on the Law) religiously active (Circumcision & Sabbath) but their confidence in themselves & works! The verdict : our hearts are still guilty of sin despite outward appearances (2.16)

God’s Wrath revealed on … the ALL (3.9 – 20) both Jews & Gentiles are under sin (v9) “NO ONE” / “ALL” / “NOT EVEN ONE” … no exceptions!!! appeals to Psalms, Isaiah, Ecclesiastes 6 parts of the body! The verdict : all stand condemned at “Divine bar of Judgement” & nothing we can do will save us! (3.19 – 20)
