THERE IS A WARFARE WHAT YOU MUST KNOW 1. Warfare is the NORM for all believers – Luke 22:1-33; Eccl 3:8; Rev 12:10 2. Our enemy is Satan, not a particular person or event – Eph 6:12 3. His goal: strongholds in you mind (2 Cor 10:3-5) His tactics: John 8:44 - lies How to overcome temptation Matt 4:1-11 Jesus’ Example 1. V3-4, 1st temptation – lust of the flesh - change stones to bread - temptation: act independently of God 2. v5-7, 2nd temptation – boastful pride of life - jump off pinnacle of temple - temptation: act presumptuously 3. v rd temptation – lust of the eyes - world kingdoms in exchange for worship of Satan - temptation: use Satan’s shortcut 4. 1 Pet 5:8- like roaring lion, seeks to devour, uses persecution 5.
