What Is EPEAT? Electronics Product Environmental Assessment Tool

DOE Mandates White House Executive Order requires federal agencies to purchase at least 95% EPEAT- registered products in all relevant electronic product categories. White House Executive Order DOE mandates that we participate in the Federal Electronics Challenge DOE mandates that we supply the numbers of procured desktop computers that are EPEAT registered

Federal Electronics Challenge Voluntary program that encourages federal facilities and agencies to: Purchase greener electronic products. Reduce impacts of electronic products during use. Manage obsolete electronics in an environmentally safe way.

EPEAT Helps purchasers in the public and private sectors to evaluate, compare and select desktop computers, notebooks and monitors based on their environmental attributes Provides a clear and consistent set of performance criteria for the design of products Market recognition for manufacturer efforts to reduce the environmental impact of products

Ad-Hoc Working Group Created to address the Federal Electronics Challenge Members: Barry Fritz, ADGreg Mitchell, BSS Jack Kelly, BSSAmy Pavnica, CD Eric McHugh, PPDBridget Scerini, TD Eric Mieland, ESH

Ad-Hoc Working Group 2007 goals focused on the “End-of-Life Management” 2008 goals to focus on “Operation and Maintenance” Five Mandatory Controls Six Optional Controls
