ATTENTION To say in with the name of a country there are 3 different words; en la France>en France au le Luxembourg>au Luxembourg aux les Etats-Unis>aux Etats-Unis

ATTENTION Luckily most of the countries are feminine and almost all countries that end in -E are feminine so it’s easy to remember. So I live in becomes; en l’Ecosse>J’habite en Ecosse en la Suisse>J’habite en Suisse en la Belgique>J’habite en Belgique en la Grande>J’habite en Grande- -BretagneBretagne

ATTENTION BUT some countries are masculine: So I live in changes to au le Luxembourg > J’habite au Luxembourg au le Pays de Galles > J’habite au pays de Galles And some countries are plural: aux les Etats-Unis > J’habite aux Etats-Unis Le Luxembourg Le Pays de Galles Les Etats-Unis SO WE SAY : J’habite au Luxembourg J’habite au Pays de Galles J’habite AUX Etats-Unis

So to say in with the name of a country; en For feminine countries use en en e.g. la France> J’habite en France (Note - all countries that end in –e are feminine) au For masculine countries use au au e.g. le Luxembourg> J’habite au Luxembourg aux For plural countries use aux aux e.g. les Etats-Unis> J’habite aux Etats-Unis
