Background of the study Culture differences are obvious between Asian and West, for English language teaching/ learning should be modified so as to help each other. (Khuwaileh,2000)

Statement of the problems  Many studies focus on the Taiwanese high school students attitudes/expectations about leaning/teaching and their teacher’s; however, few studies focus on the comprehensive high school students.

Purpose of the study  To investigate Taiwanese Commercial High school student’s learning attitudes and expectations to their native speaker English teacher’s teaching beliefs.  To explore the culture shock between Taiwanese student’s and teacher’s learning/ teaching problems.

Research Questions  1. What are Taiwanese student’s ( Natou Commercial High school) expectations about English speaking courses and Foreign teacher ?  2. What are foreign teacher’s expectations about their Taiwanese students ( Natou Commercial High school) in English speaking courses?

Research Questions  3. What are the performance of Taiwanese student’s ( Natou Commercial High school) learning strategies in their English speaking courses?

Literature Review  “ Conflict of cultural identity is pivotal in the success or failure of language learning.”  (Norton-peirce, 1995; Luke,2000, 1996; Gunderson,2000; Mc Carthy et al, 2003; Pennycook, 1999; Harklau,2000)  “ Teacher’s performance in class may be affected by their cultures”  ( Nunan,1986)
