The period from birth to three years of age is marked by extraordinary growth across all developmental domains. Development during this period is rapid, dynamic, and sensitive to social, physical, biological, and environmental inputs. A child’s experiences from birth to three influence how he or she develops, learns, The Conversations on Access and Quality for Infants and Toddlers peer learning group is a five-part professional learning opportunity for impact teams (made up of state, regional, and/or local stakeholders). There will be an informal kick-off event at the Infant Toddler Strategies Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, June 1–3, for those who are able to attend. The peer learning group will then officially launch with a webinar that will provide an overview of the essential policies of infant and toddler care and solidify the NCECQA April 30, 2016 This peer learning group focuses on principles and practices that support understanding and responding to the development of infants and toddlers and the centrality of adult-child relationships, including those with providers and parents. Topics for discussion include the following: The six essential policies of infant and toddler care Quality rating and improvement system (QRIS) indicators and criteria supportive of high-quality infant and There are five related sessions planned as part of this opportunity.
