Emerald Ash Borer Beetle EAB BY: Parth Rishi Brahmbhatt Robert Dunphy

Introducing…..EAB!! Science name is Agrilus Planipennis, Emerald ash borer is its more commonplace name Kingdom- Animalia Phylum- arthropoda Class- insecta

Arrival of the beetle Discovered in southeastern Michigan, in 2002 Theoretically, its from Asia. It can be found in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Ontario, Quebec, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin

What does it do to the people? Mainly, these beetles attack ash trees, and trees produce oxygen for us to breathe and trees are a major natural resource Humans also use the wood for lumber and fire wood

How about the ecosystem? A MAJOR loss of ash trees The only organisms affected are humans, and Ash trees.

The food web Woodpecker Larvae/EAB Ash trees

Mission Accomplished Its reason for success is that there are so many neighboring states that produce and possess Ash trees.

The future plan They are using pesticides, conducting quarantines, and major studies of this beetle are taking place.
