1.0 Leadership Development – FFA The NFA The New Farmers of America Founded in Virginia in 1935 for African American male agriculture students Had a creed and emblem, similar to the FFA. Emblem had a cotton boll, instead of an ear of corn.

1.0 Leadership Development – FFA Four Levels of FFA Membership Active:Active: middle and high school students enrolled in agricultural education, can continue up to 3 years after graduation. Collegiate:Collegiate: students enrolled in agriculture courses at 2 or 4 year postsecondary schools. –NCSU, NC A&T, & Mount Olive College are only NC chapters Alumni:Alumni: former active and collegiate members and other FFA supporters. Honorary:Honorary: given to individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the FFA, very limited group.
