1. Don’t talk when someone else is talking to you. o Raise your hand instead of calling out. o Stop talking when you hear the teacher speaking to you. o Ask questions at appropriate times.

2. Keep your hands to yourself and your own stuff and do not deface other people’s stuff, unless invited otherwise. o Note: Big PDAs are inappropriate in certain settings (i.e. classroom, hallway, etc.).

3. Profanity (including minority/ racial slurs of any kind) should NOT be used in public.

4. Don’t engage in negative peer pressure (i.e. Telling someone that they should try drugs, “party hard,” etc.).

5. Treat others the way you would like to be treated (i.e. actively listening to someone).

6. Hold the door if someone is following you into a room.

7. Do not get involved in other people’s conversations unless you are invited to or in some way affected by it.

8. When you are supposed to be paying attention to something and/or someone, put your electronic devices (i.e. cell phone, kindle, ipods, etc.) away.

9. Do not actively judge someone.

10. Keep your comments positive, including suggestions.

11. Wear appropriate attire that is not suggestive, derogatory or provocative to school.

12. Don’t make unnecessary and irrelevant comments when the teachers are trying to help you be successful in life.

13. Use the appropriate volume when talking inside (“inside voice”).

14. Take responsibility for your own actions.

15. Don’t discuss inappropriate topics where you can be overheard.

16. Don’t show someone inappropriate material, videos, actions, etc.

17. Don’t throw things in the classroom, unless the teacher appropriately asks you to.

BONUS: Unless your teacher is asking you to do something that affects your or someone else’s health, please respectfully do what he or she is asking.
