Presentation transcript:

 85% of the brains weight is the cerebrum.  The right side of the cerebrum thinks about music, colours and shapes.  The left side of the cerebrum thinks about maths, logic and speech.  The Cerebrum is the biggest part of the brain.  You can not stand up right if you do not have a Cerebrum or kick a ball or dance.

 Cerebellum controls balance movement and coordination.  The Cerebellum is at the back of the brain.  Without your Cerebellum you would not be able to stand up right or move around.

 The Pituitary Gland is the size of a pea.  The Pituitary Gland controls your growth.  The Pituitary Gland is in charge of puberty.  The Pituitary Gland helps you stay alive.

TT he Hypothalamus controls the heat in side your body like when you are hot the Hypothalamus tells the body to sweat and When you are cold the Hypothalamus tells the body to shiver.

 The Brain Stem sits Beneath the cerebrum and in front of the Cerebellum.  The brain stem is in charge of breathing air, eating food and pumping blood.  The brain stem tells the heart to pump more blood when you are biking or running.

 The brain is the third biggest organ.  The Brain is made up of 135kg of pink- grey tissue and winkled just like a walnut.  Your brain is wrapped in 3 layers of tissue and floats in a special shock-proof fluid to stop it from getting bumped on the inside of your skull as your body moves around.  Do you know that your brain has around 100 billion nerve cells.
