Area in the real world. By: Nancy and Yesenia

What is Area? Area: the space The most common formula that we know of is multiplying the length and the width. Here are some other formulas..

How is area used in the Real world? You can use area in many things such as… - architecture -gardening -flooring purchases

Area in Architecture… First of all what is architecture? Are would be used in architecture to find the space of a building ect. When it comes to creating a building you need to know how to find area.. It becomes the basis from which you build off of. Architecture is an imaginative blend of art and science in the design of environments for people. People need places to eat, work, live and play. Architects transform these needs into concepts and then develop the concepts into building images.

Area in Gardening. Area is used in gardening when you want to make sure that all you plants are going to fit…. As we all learned or should have learned last year in algebra.. Area really comes in handy. When you want to make sure that your garden is the perfect size u can use area.. If you want it to be a specific size in your yard then you find the area of your yard and subtract it by the area of your garden. This will also inform you of how much extra space you will have.

Area in flooring purchases Say you want to install carpet in your home… You are going to have to know the area of the room you want to put the carpet in… In the case of buying tiles you would find the total area of the room and then the area of the tile. Then divided the 2 areas and see how many you would need.

What interested us about our topic What interested us was that we could research more about a concept that we used last year. Last year we used area A LOT!!! And one of the questions that kept coming up was how will we ever use this in life?? Well…. Now we had an opportunity to find that out and share with you all our findings.

What we have learned We have learned that area is commonly used in building. That area is not an easy thing research Without the area formulas we would all end up with messed up carpets and buildings.

What we would like to learn. We would like to learn more about area in architecture. We were really interested in it, but unfortunately we could not find sufficient information on the subject.
