The student will be able to: 1.Recognize, understand, and estimate the size of common metric units. 2.Convert from one metric prefix to another. 3.Properly measure in mm, cm, and meters. 4.Write numbers in both standard and scientific notation. 5.Write the formulas for calculating area and volume. 6.Determine the surface area or volume of given objects. 7.Manipulate area and volume formulas to find the missing dimension.
