What is a wizard?  “Wizards, in essence, are any characters able to manipulate the world around them through superhuman or magical means.”( Fake 2003:1)  Being a wizard in J. K. Rowling’s story, it means that you have magic, you were born with it and it will never disappear.  “A wizard is someone who practices magic, even though is real magic, like Albus Dumbledore’s magic, or is just something that appears to be magical.” (A. Kronzek and E. Kronzek 2003: 141)

Types of wizards They can be identified and classified by the way in which they use their magic and with what purpose 1.Good wizards- they want to save the world, protect de innocent, fight and destroy the evil forces. 2. Evil wizards- want to gain power, kill and torture for pleasure, their desire is to control the whole world and dominate everyone.

Evil wizards- personality traits Lord Voldemort - The most powerful dark wizard of all times -He uses the Dark Arts / Black Magic -egocentric, incapable of love and understanding what friendship is -Wants to kill all those who are not pure-blood wizards - His great enemy is Harry Potter

The Death Eaters -The followers of Voldemort -Adepts of the Dark Arts -They were murderers and killers -They had to do Voldemort’s “ dirty work”

Bellatrix Lestrange -A fanatic follower of Lord Voldemort -A very powerful and skilled witch -She became an expert in the Dark Arts -Her pleasure was to torture her victims to madness -She showed affection towards Voldemort and some family members - She had mental problems
