4 I- The European social dialogue committee for TAW Who meets ? UNI-Europa and Eurociett. They are the only European Social partners in the sector. Eurociett: Employers national federation + major multinational companies settled in E.U. UNI-E: trade unions like CFDT services (Fr), Unionen (Sw), Unite (UK), Ver.Di (DE), CC.OO (Sp), … Who chairs ? The European Commission but no interference. Autonomy of social dialogue.

5 ESD: what for ? Creating a European industrial relations sytems: economies and labour markets are integrated. Fight against social dumping and against false temporary agencies. Possibility to negotiate European agreements to be implemented trough out Europe Status: UNI-E and Eurociett areEuropean SP and therefore a stakeholder for EU institions. Possibility to inflence EU legislation (TAW directive) Promote National SD: « peer to peer effect », sharing good (agreements) and bad practices (conflict)

AGENDA in TAW Main topics: Influence the adoption of the Europan directive on temporary work agencies facilitating access to vocational training of temporary agency workers Decent work, non discrimination, equal opportunities, promoting the ILO Convention 181 Migrant workers and the posting directive

7 II- European Works Councils EWC = information and consultation of workers: ensure a transnational social dialogue, exchange of views, information and consultation, etc. Avoid unnecessary tensions and prevent conflicts. Associate workers before the decisions are taken by management. UNI-E follows 200 EWCs

8 Role of UNI-E in EWCs Negotiate and sign agreements in cooperation with workers representatives to settle a EWC EWC expert or observer, to participate in all meetings and right to speak Advisory role to workers representatives : know how and legal knowledge Control the respect of the EWC agreement
