It all started with who else but… Pong! Well, the first game was actually tennis for two, a similar game. Pong was released in 1972 by Atari. What would happen was a player would move an in-game paddle to deflect a “ball” and and stimulate a game of table tennis. The player would either play against a CPU player (unreal) or another real life person (Very real)

The Very First The very first arcade video game was called Computer space. The player gets 90 seconds to shoot down UFOs using a joystick to move and buttons to shoot. If at the end of 90 seconds your score is higher than the UFOs score, than you get another 90 seconds to do the same. If you still have a higher score than the UFOs at the end of that 90 seconds, than you do the same over and over again Infinitely.

RPGs – RPGs are sort of like a whole nother world, where you assume you are one of the avatars, or characters. One very famous example is Pokémon.

Pokemon Pokemon was one of the greatest game of all time. Some examples are: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue/Red/(DS and GBA) Pokemon Time/Darkness(DS) Pokemon Leaf Green/Fire Red(DS and GBA) Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Heartgold/Soulsilver(DS)

Platformers A platformer is a game where the player jumps on to floating platforms, and sometimes enemies. One very famous example is the Super Mario bros.

Sprites Sprites are pixelized and what you see in video games are made out of. Sprites can also be fused, or cut and pasted with other parts. Below are some sprites that can be found in Pokemon. They’re blurry when enlarged, as you can clearly see.
