The case for permanent, supportive housing for homeless adults in our Seattle community

There are about 814 chronically homeless adults in King County Why are people chronically homeless? There are many complex reasons, including: Mental and physical illness Age and lack of employment options Chemical dependency Childhood abuse Poverty Trauma and PTSD Limited social safety net Source: 2016 King County One Night Count Data. Housing saves lives and money In a published public health study, 29 high utilizers of medical & emergency services who came to live at Plymouth saved King County’s health system $62,504 per person in just one year – a total savings of $1.8 million.
