Leadership project Mauricio Adams

Ernesto “ Che “ Guevara was a Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat and military theorist. He was a major figure in the Cuban revolution against the Batista leadership, and a famous diplomat that fought for poverty in Latin America. He got to his position after his trip north, in Guatemala when the CIA overthrew Arbenz, and he wanted to join a brigade and fight, but couldn’t. He took refuge at an Argentine embassy until he could find a safe passage to Mexico. In Mexico he met Raul Castro, one of the leaders on the assault on the Moncada barracks in Cuba. Soon after he met Fidel, Raul’s brother. They both had something in common, they wanted to remove the dictator Fulgencio Batista from power. Both Castros’ and Che along with 82 revolutionary soldiers boarded a yacht named Granma, loaded with ammunition and fuel. After they reached Cuba they ran for the mountains due to an ambush. Only 23 of the original revolutionaries survived, including the Castros’ and Che. Elections were held and after several disputes, Batista fled the country and Fidel Castro became the new-Cuban leader.

He was a great leader due to his intelligence in politics and in the military. He was also very close to the people he worked with, all the soldiers knew him. He spent his time preparing for activities. After the revolution in Cuba, Che went to South Africa and fought against the dictatorship and unfair work. He was pursued by Bolivian antirevolutionaries in the Bolivian special forces, and on October 7th !967 he was captured, and executed on October 10th

Quotes “The victory in the Cuban Revolution is a tangible demonstration before all the Americas that peoples are capable of rising up, that they can rise up by themselves right under the very fangs a fierce monster.” “Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism, and a battle hymn for the people's unity against the great enemy of mankind: the United States of America.”
