The Food Guide Pyramid Old vs. New

The Food Guide Pyramid is a visual representation created to help people better understand how to eat healthy. A balanced diet is one that includes all the food groups of the food pyramid.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) changed the food pyramid in spring 2005 because they wanted to convey a better example of how to eat healthier.
