Logistics Operational Guide (LOG) A joint information platform created by and for humanitarian organisations Continuously updated and technically upgraded Rolled-out during Paris GLCSC meeting in March 2010 Reference group reconvened to go forward with feedback received and development of new content Ongoing communication initiatives, internally and externally

Logistics Operational Guide (LOG) visits, from unique visitors Ongoing increase of visits Response section is the most visited Most visitors are coming from 182 countries, mostly from USA, Italy, India and UK Statistics

Logistics Operational Guide (LOG) Survey Ongoing user survey - Deadline 15 November Paper survey - please take a few minutes to give us your feedback 113 visits to the survey but VERY FEW surveys submitted ! Very positive feedback so far and interesting proposals for improvement

To date VERY FEW feedback received 5 Modules: E-Learning tool to enhance coordination & communication 6-month survey to measure impact: rolled out - February 2010

Service Mindset Training (SMT) 78% say take away tools are useful 93 participants responded to the 6-Month survey 63% feel the SMT is a realistic tool 54% noticed a lot of improvement in their performance 96% recommend the SMT tool 57% feel SMT had a good impact on their performance 30 humanitarian organizations registered for SMT 6-month Survey results

Logistics Response Team Training (LRT) Participants apply their skills & knowledge in a real disaster situation A 6-day simulation training Multi-organisation facilitation team Develop humanitarian logistics response in a coordinated fashion Find synergies and share best practices Prepare logisticians to be deployed Provide immediate operational surge capacity Assume a coordination role at the onset of emergencies What Objectives

Logistics Response Team Training (LRT) 8 LRT trainings successfully implemented: 2 in 2007, 2 in 2008, 2 in 2009; and 2 in 2010  The next LRT is planned for April logistics officers as participants or facilitators; 38 different organisations & partners have so far participated (including UN Agencies, NGOs, IOs, ICRC, IFRC, MSB, UPS, SDC and MIT) *Including Logistics Cluster, UNJLC Sudan, and Secondees to GLCSC from different UN agencies and NGOs. 156 logisticians trained  117 senior logisticians from different humanitarian organisations have facilitated the training, in addition to WFP* staff;
