Meeting labour market demands What college used to be: Colleges offered hands-on, skills-based training; and universities offered a more academic-based curriculum, training for professional careers. What college is now: Both colleges and universities offer academic learning blended with practical experience. Colleges also lead many applied research projects in many different disciplines.

Theory-based academics (law school, teacher’s college, Master’s degree) Industry-driven curriculum (CMA, CFP, CHRP, PEng.) Experiential learning (mandatory co-op, internships, placements) Academic and student support (advising, peer tutoring, accommodations, financial assistance, career services) What is the college experience like?
