Mira Green Tech - MULTI STAGE BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM

2 MULTI STAGE BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM : CURRENT SCENERIO India’s largest cities generate more than 38,254 million liters of sewage each day. Of this, it is estimated that less than 30 per cent of what is collected undergoes treatment before it is disposed into freshwater bodies or the sea. It has been estimated that about 40% of primary network is susceptible to blockages, spills caused by hydraulic inadequacy, collapse/damage, and root ingress. The house hold wastewater is collected in the septic tank. It is cleaned by municipal tankers. Either the waste is dumped in the open drainage or is taken in truck and dumped outside the cities. In most of tier 2 or tier 3 cities the piping is not done in most of the part and if done they are not inter connected. MSBS Reactor Equalation Air Manifold Fixed Biomass Operating Room Solid Separator Our Solution MSBS MULTI STAGE BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM (MSBS)  MSBS system is based on a multi-stage serial design where each individual cell containing a fixed bed, an air dosing and distributing system.  There is no organic sludge treatment in the system, since there is no accumulation of sludge in this process.  Effectively eliminates pollutants from waste water, lower footprint, Cap-ex and Op-ex.  Simple to operate and easy to maintain.

3 MULTI STAGE BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM PROCESS (MSBS)  Custom designed process with pretreatment consisting of screening unit and grit removal  Removal of inert creates the required environment for the MSBS reactor.  Process is based on spatial microorganism successions and trophic chains  Provides for conditions in which organics are consumed by primary microorganisms while the primary organisms are later consumed by higher order predatory microbes.  Process utilizes naturally occurring microbial food chains to eliminate excess sludge  The system produces a high quality effluent in a simple, easy to operate package. MSBS PROCESS MULTI STAGE BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM

PRINCIPLE OF MSBS Organic Matter + O₂ + Nutrients + Bacteria CO₂ + H₂O (New Bacterial Cells) + Energy Oxidation and Synthesis:  Mass quantity of new cells (biomass) produced in a stage will be lower than mass quantity of raw organic material oxidized in the stage  Energy transferred to the next trophic level results in only a fraction being converted to new biomass the rest going to metabolic processes

5 PRINCIPLES OF PROCESS Tertiary Consumers Secondary Consumers Primary consumers Primary Producers Decrease in Biomass Decrease in Energy

6 MSBS SCOPE AND ADVANTAGES MUNICIPAL APPLICATIONS  Conventional  Developments  School  Parks  Hospitality  Healthcare INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS  Food and Beverages  Chemicals  Pharmaceutical  Petrochemical  Cosmetic  Textile  Slaughterhouse MSBS ADVANTAGES  No Surplus Organic Sludge  No Odour due to absence of sludge  Easily Scalable  No Primary and secondary setting is required  High organic and hydraulic shock resistance  The system enables excellent tertiary effluent quality combined only with physical filtration and residual disinfection.  High effluent quality  High modularity

7 MSBS DESIGN & PROCESS STAGES  Bioreactor divided into multiple stages using separators.  Each stage consists of a unique and progressively designed food chain environment  Fixed bed biomass in each stage to provide high bacteria density and substrate contact  hours hydraulic retention time.  Longer Hydraulic retention time (HRT) for higher efficiency treatment. Absorption of dissolved organics by organisms on the fixed growth media. Logarithmic biomass growth in a short period of time. Carbon absorption relative to mass of microorganisms and oxygen. Significant BOD reduction in this face. Complex oxidation Process based on three kinds of reactions 1.Biomass Synthesis 2.Endogenous respiration 3.Nitrification/de-nitrifica tion Oxygen demand decreases in later stages of the process. Microorganisms are assimilated by higher order organisms in the food chain Massive destruction of sludge mass occurs Process minimizes the “ sludge” remaining in the effluent, with the only “ sludge” leaving the system is the TSS meeting permitted limits. LOGARITHMIC GROWTH DECLINING GROWTH ENDOGENOUS GROWTH MSBS PROCESS STAGES

8 MIRA GREEN STP MAJOR COMPONENTS Our Green STP consists of the following main components:  Pretreatment – Screening/Oil & Grease removal  Equalization Tank  MSBS Bio Reactor  Blower system with Air manifold system  Command and control systems  Electrical Panel & Instrumentation SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

9 BENEFITS OF MSBS  Sludge Free Solution thereby lowering the cost of maintenance and operational hassles.  Odor free, Can be installed close to human settlements.  Walls of the chamber can be either concrete or reinforced PE sheets which minimizes the civil cost of construction of the plant significantly.  Significant reduction in space requirement, power consumption, human intervention, spare parts (no moving parts except the blower) and Maintenance.  Easy Scalability – Enables incremental flow without the need of major investment.  Easy to repair by lifting the cages without interrupting the operation unlike a conventional STP.  No need for complete shut down of plant in case of chemical attacks
