Presentation transcript:

The first step is to measure the depth of your box.

The depth of the box is 2 3\16” When you start to layout your shape on paper you subtract 2\16” from each measurement

The measurement of the depth of your box was 2 3\16” You subtract 2\16” from the 2 3\16”. Layout two lines that are 2 1\16” from the two edges of your paper.

Measure the inside width of your box. What ever measurement you get subtract 2\16”

The width is 4 1\2” so when you layout the width on your paper it should be 4 3\8”

Measure 4 3\8” from the bottom line and then draw the line for the width of your box.

Measure the inside length of your box.

The inside measurement is 8 5\8. Subtract 2\16” and you will have 8 1\2” for the layout of your paper insert.

Draw a parallel line 8 1\2” from this line.

Now you need to draw a 2 1\16” tab on the top and the right side

With a pair of scissors cut along these two lines.

Cut out the corners with a pair of scissors.

Your paper insert should look like this.

Using a utility knife score (cut part way through the paper) on the remaining lines. This will allow the tabs to fold easily.

Cut out felt that is one 1” larger than your paper all the way around. Ask the instructor to assist with gluing the felt to the paper.
