Hinduism  Origins  Beyond written, recorded history  No primary holy book but several sacred texts  Basic Beliefs:  Vedas: the eternal rules  Strive for dharma (doing the “right” thing)  Souls are immortal (transmigration)  The goal is moksha (being free of transmigration)  Paths duty, knowledge, devotion
