Publisher Client The Publisher Client is a downloadable tool that you add to ArcCatalog

Geoportal Upload Can upload metadata directly to the Geoportal

Geoportal Upload Once you upload, you can validate and upload. If your metadata does not validate, errors will be flagged!

Create on the Geoportal You can also create metadata on the Geoportal

Create on the Geoportal One benefit of creating metadata on the Geoportal is that you can edit or update it later. Uploading data requires publisher to re-upload data if it needs to be edited or updated.

NSGIC Access The Washington State Geoportal also has a WAF set up for NSGIC harvesting.

NSGIC Access All metadata from the WAF was harvested in late 2013 for consumption into the NSGIC portal. We have had very few updates since then, but are overdue for another harvest.

Geoportal Upgrade When we set up the WAF for DSHS, we needed additional functionality

Geoportal Upgrade The Geoportal Upgrade is anticipated by the end of this month! It will be connecting to the same database of metadata. Should be no need to re-publish metadata. User accounts will stay the same. Will be reviewing content and updating the base map.

Moving Forward Updated metadata – where appropriate WAF for automatic synchronization Fixing metadata where needed (i.e. online linkages that go to file folders)
