INCLUSION: Learn and share...What can we do together? 10 June 2011 Pedro Afonso Intergenerational Valorisation and Active Development Association WS 2 Effective dissemination and exploitation of the best practice in impact: “Exchange of good practice and lessons for the future What actions to maximise impact”

INCLUSION: Learn and share...What can we do together? Topics on Discussion: 1.How to make the best practice in inclusion more visible? 2.How to maximise project’s impact and influence? 3.How to inspire and encourage more participation of disadvantage groups in LLP?

1. Making the best practice in inclusion more visible There’s no “one size fits all” recipe Projects and Products need to be: USEFUL & TAILOR MADE

Dissemination & Exploitation Strategy 9 steps to follow... but don’t expect “magical” success 1.INVOLVING END USERS since the beginning 2.ENLARGING ORIGINAL PARTNERSHIP 3.Produce Project Products that reflects END USERS CHOICES, 4.GRAPHIC MATERIALS: printed and web/ distributed 5.ONLINE/DIGITAL VISIBILITY of the project and its products 6.MEDIA VISIBILITY (newspaper, radio and newsletter) 7.NETWORKING AND Academic/scientific dialogue and presentation 8.Strategic CONTACTS AND FACE TO FACE meetings 9.CONTRIBUTION TO POLICIES: at EU level and National level 1. Making the best practice in inclusion more visible

Under the INCREASE Project (learning partnership) each partner contributed with: Graphic materials Online/digital materials (website, guide, press release) Media visibility (newsletters) 1. Making the best practice in inclusion more visible

2. Maximize project’s impact and influence policy The project’s outcomes tends to be a method as well as a whole of results that should be used on the LLP policies (and related fields) in future.

2. Maximize project’s impact and influence policy The final impact of the Projects relays NOT ONLY in the effectiveness of Dissemination and Exploitation strategy, BUT ALSO ON THE QUALITY OF OUTCOMES PRODUCED

2. Maximize project’s impact and influence policy Provide contribution in public consultations Ex.: MATES Guide – contribution to a possible designation of 2012 as European Year for Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity Put stakeholders in contact with Projects Local authorities LLP National Agencies European Parliament Deputies Key-persons in some DG’s of the European Commission or institutes/other EU institutions, specially those with a direct connection with the Projects subjects.

2. Maximize project’s impact and influence policy Key-institutions at European and/or national level, include the major European networks, platforms confederations, foundations etc Key-institutions and professional in the field of adult education or/and related field Contact outside EU institutions with specific interest in intergenerational field of the project

3. Inspire and encourage more participation of disadvantage groups in LLP Helping people to help themselves Unchain their own potential

3. Inspire and encourage more participation of disadvantage groups in LLP If someone has a genuine will, it will find a way EMPOWERMENT END USERS

3. Inspire and encourage more participation of disadvantage groups in LLP How to do? Working on motivation/ Atractive Direct Bottom-up strategy/incorporate everyone point of view Involve end users since the beginning of the project (be a part of the solution, no the problem) Opportunity to integrate other institutions, professionals with less experience in LLP

3. Inspire and encourage more participation of disadvantage groups in LLP How to do? Involve institutions with different missions/aims and different publics Implement projects not only in urban spaces but also in rural areas Share resources and synergies of local/national instituions Evaluate all the activities and learn from the mistakes Invite end users to transfer/share their life experience, accumulated value and affection;

3. Inspire and encourage more participation of disadvantage groups in LLP Focus on common interests and mutual reciprocity between projects/partnerships and end users. Maximise the rediscovery of individual interests of end users; Foster not only a local active citizenship but also European citizenship
