About OCC Run by Samaritan’s Purse – Christian relief and evangelism charity organization – Provide spiritual and physical aid to victims of war, poverty, natural disaster, and disease Pack a shoebox filled with gifts for needy children around the world

Mission Statement “The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.”

How to Pack a Shoebox Use an empty, standard-sized shoebox or a small plastic container – If you choose to wrap it, please wrap the lid and box separately Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category Pack and fill the box neatly with gifts that are appropriate for the child’s age and gender

How to Pack a Shoebox (cont.) Fill out and tape a shoebox label to the top of your box Please include a check for $7 made out to “Samaratin’s Purse” with “OCC” on the memo line to cover shipping – Place it in an envelope inside the box, on top of the gift items – If your family is donating multiple shoeboxes, just write one check for all of them and place it in any of the boxes. (still $7 per box) Place a rubber band around the shoebox to secure the lid Pray for the child who will receive your gift!

What to Fill the Shoebox With Toys – Small cars – Balls – Dolls – Stuffed animals – Yo-yos – Jump ropes

What to Fill the Shoebox With School Supplies – Pens – Pencils AND sharpener – Crayons – Markers – Stamps and ink pad sets – Notebooks – Coloring Books

What to Fill the Shoebox With Hygiene Items – Toothbrush – Toothpaste – Bar soap (in a plastic bag) – Comb – Washcloth

What to Fill the Shoebox With Other – Hard candy/lollipops (please double bag all candy) – Mints – Gum – T-shirts – Socks – Hats – Hair accessories – Toy jewelry

What NOT to Fill the Shoebox With Used/damaged items War-related items (toy guns, knives, military figures) Chocolate or food Expired candy Liquids or lotions Medicine or vitamins Breakables

Please bring your shoe box to church by Sunday, November 13 th
