Cars weren’t invented in one day by one inventor The first self-propelled vehicle was steam- powered

 Steam engines were not the only engines used in early automobiles  Between 1832 and 1839 Robert Anderson of Scotland invented the first electric carriage.  Both steam and electric road vehicles were abandoned in favor of gas- powered vehicles.

 The world's first four-wheeled automobile invented by Gottlieb Daimler in the  The size, speed, and efficiency of the engine allowed for a revolution in car design.

 In the mid 20th century cars take a big step from early gas engines to turbodiesel motors  Cars found their shape little by little. Opened cars changed to sedan cars.  Cars became more comfortable with better tires and suspension.

 T- Ford is the most popular of early automobiles.  It cost under 1000 dollars and normal people could buy it.  It have 4- cylinder 2.9 litres gas engine with 20 horsepower.

 1940s cars have usual hydraulic brakes and better balloon tires.  cars usually had radio, heater and more aerodynamic shape  1940 invented motors with 8 and 16 sylinder

 1950s american cars have air condition and electric windows.  Cars have a big engine with low performance and usually automatic transmissions.  1960’s cars are longer and lower than earlier cars and they have lots of chrome parts.

 ABS-brakes have reduced car crashes and deer collisions. (ABS-brakes don’t get locked so the driver can steer while braking)  Electronic Stability Program (=ESP) corrects driver’s mistakes and prevents accidents

 Low fuel consumption is valued quality nowadays due to high price of gasoline.  Many inventions such as hybrid cars and blue- motion technologies have been developed to lower fuel consumption  New lighter materials, aluminium for example have replaced old sheet iron as the main material

 Cruise control (was invented in the 70s but became common in the 2000s)  Park assist  Hill start assist (HSA)  GPS  These inventions have made driving a lot easier
