Bike Check (Athlete Lounge) Bike Wheels including spares (non-authorised UCI wheels rule) Handle bars with clips-ons Saddle position Approval for the addition / modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the Race Referee by the end of the athletes’ briefing Mechanic services available

Athlete’s Lounge Uniform check & race gear (name, country, logos, ITU logo, zippers, race caps) – photos taken of each uniform. Wearing other uniform during the race = DQF! Body marking check (both arms, both legs) Timing chip distribution (1 for the ankle) Swim cap distribution Leave non-race bags here (use gear bag sticker) Leave labelled spare wheels here which will be transported to Wheel Stop

Athlete Lounge to Swim / TA

Check-in Transition Area Helmet check- Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes‘ Briefing.

Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: Be in line-up position 10 minutes before race start Jog to the platform Select your position and stay behind the line! Athlete blocking more than one place will result DQF

Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the TD announces ”On your mark” Air horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1.

False Start Procedures False start Example: Several horn blasts Kayaks in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his spot Valid start but with early starters: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. (During the time penalty athlete cannot touch any equipment!)

Transition Flow – Swim to TA to Bike

Transition Area Individual Bike Racks – number, name and country flag Running shoes in front of the box, helmet on the bike All used equipment into your box. (Not doing so, a time penalty of 10 seconds on the run) Bags to the Athletes Lounge Practice the flow of Transition T1 – Rear wheel in rack, facing inside of Transition, exit using inside lane of Transition T2 – Any of the wheels in rack, exit using outside lane of Transition Mount line at the end of the TA (outside the barrier)

Transition Flow – Bike to Run

Run course 3 laps total distance of 5 km Aid stations: 1 per lap For location see the map (500m after exiting TA) Sealed water Discard plastic bottles off course into littering zone Photo-finish Congestion in finish area: Go to mixed zone / recovery area

Run course – Last Lap Run through the transition area in the first 2 laps. On the third lap, turn right just before the TA, to go for the Finish.

Run Penalty Box The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike and TA2 e.x.: Mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, discharge or store your equipment outside your designated area, rack the bike outside your own space etc Transition will be videotaped for infringements Location: Just before the Transition Area Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board – coaches are advised to check and inform their athletes) Procedure: 10 second time penalty served on any lap of the run If you don’t stop to serve the penalty - DSQ

Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation Mount after the mount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line. Dismount before the dismount line: It has to be one contact of the athlete foot with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line. Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment s(swim cap, googles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box. Rack the bike inside your own space: In case of Traditional bike rack, the bike must be racked with at least one side of the handlebar or the seatpost with 0,5m to the name plate. In case of Individual bike race, the bike must be racked with the front wheel to the designated rack.

Post-race Procedures “Mixed Zone” - immediately after finish 1, 2, 3 with host broadcaster first. Medal Ceremony according to the schedule Please follow the ambush marketing rules (if applicable) Dress “up” Hats/visors are allowed on podium with maximum one sponsor logo Prize money will be transferred into your bank account

Ambush Marketing Rules Ambush marketing is defined as: “Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand.” The consequence for this behavior is: The athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event, as well as primes, if any.

Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control Photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control Medical Team medical officials will be permitted entry to the medical area only after receiving an invitation from the ITU Medical Delegate.

Coaches areas Accreditation Every coaches has to collect accredited to be able to enter the venue. Only Coaches who have been registered from their NF into the ITU online system are entitle for an accreditation Additional sport-specific coaches areas Coach zone will be found at the following points: Grand Stands, Start area, Swim exit area, Transition Zone, Penalty Box, Bike and Run Course
