Overview of requirements

Systematic validation SRTO The quality review of the assessment process. Validation involves checking that the assessment tool/s produce/s valid, reliable, sufficient, current and authentic evidence to enable reasonable judgements to be made as to whether the requirements of the training package or VET accredited courses are met. It includes reviewing a statistically valid sample of the assessments and making recommendations for future improvements to the assessment tool, process and/or outcomes and acting upon such recommendations. Validation

Systematic validation Five year cycle for the whole RTO – requires a plan for implementation Validation at least once every five years, 50% in the first 3 years A training product for a school RTO is a full qualification

5 Year Plan

Five Year Validation Plan Validation Schedule BSB10115X MSF10113X BSB20115X CHC30113X SIT10216X SIT20316X CPC10111X Four (4) qualifications must be validated within the first 3 years (50%)

Five Year Validation Plan Validation plan: when assessment validation will occur; which training products will be the focus of the validation; who will lead and participate in validation activities; and how the outcomes of these activities will be documented and acted upon.

Sampling

Systematic validation SRTO Statistically valid: Means for the purposes of these Standards, a random sample of appropriate size is selected to enable confidence that the result is sufficiently accurate to be accepted as representative of the total population of assessments being validated

HR Requirements

Systematic validation A team approach may be used to achieve the above combination Appropriately qualified persons to conduct the review who are not involved in the particular instance of delivery and assessment a) Vocational competencies and current industry skills relevant to the assessment being validated b) Current knowledge and skills in vocational teaching and learning c) TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment OR TAESS00001 Assessor Skill Set.
