Earth System Bridge Integrating existing model architectures & coupling standards, and data standards into open-source building blocks to transform Earth system model coupling, & bridge technological and cultural gaps. W HAT IS E ARTH C UBE ? EarthCube began in 2011 as a joint initiative between the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Geosciences (GEO) and the Division of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (ACI). EarthCube is broadly interdisciplinary, serving the Earth and Environmental Sciences, developing technologies that serve the scientific community. EarthCube envisions a dynamic, community-driven cyberinfrastructure that supports standards for interoperability, infuses advanced technologies to facilitate interdisciplinary research, and helps educate scientists in the emerging practices of digital scholarship, data and software stewardship, and open science. Leadership Council The Leadership Council is the elected voice of the EarthCube community, setting the strategic direction for EarthCube and making decisions critical to the success of EarthCube with input from the community and in consultation with NSF. Council of Data Facilities The CoDF provides a voice to the member data facilities, identifies & endorses standards & best practices and helps foster innovation through collaborative projects. Science Committee The Science Committee maintains the connection between academic and technology communities, ensuring end-user requirements are prioritized. Tech/Architecture Committee The TAC facilitates the development of the technology that is part of EarthCube, including stewardship of the ongoing architecture. Engagement Team The ET is responsible for proactively reaching out to individuals within the EarthCube community, encouraging involvement in EarthCube, acting as a conduit for feedback to the Governing body. Liaison Team The LT acts as a liaison between organizations external to the NSF core constituency of academic geoscientists, and the EarthCube Governing body. W HO I S E ARTH C UBE ?
