Slovenia borders with Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. And is a member of the European Union.

The national flag of Slovenia features three equal horizontal bands of white, blue and red. The coat of arms is a shield with the image of Mount TRIGLAV, Slovenia's highest peak. Beneath it are two wavy blue lines representing the Adriatic Sea and local rivers. And above it are three six-pointed golden stars which are taken from the coat of arms of the Counts of Celje from 14th century.

Why? Because is very diverse and rich with: - mountains, - forests, - caves, - rivers and has a sea…

In Slovenian caves lives an Amphibian named human fish or olm. It is the only European vertebrate living exclusively underground.

The capital city of Slovenia is Ljubljana. It has inhabitants. In Ljubljana there are many sights, for example a famous Ljubljana`s castle and the “Three bridges”…

People in Slovenia are friendly and very open. We like to meet people from other countries and we like to learn foreign languages. We have got several exellent athlets, many of them are olimpic champions. The most popular sports in Slovenia are football, basketball and skiing.

When we have some free time we do sport, go to the music school or simply play with friends. Teenagers spend a lot of their free time playing computer games and chating with friends on mobile phones.

ABOUT ŠKOFIJE VILLAGE This is a village located just 2 km away from Italian border. It has around 3300 inhabitants.
