Got it? Brilliant!

We have already discussed personal pronouns before. Remember this guy? I’m sure you all remember… Anyway, let’s check out this crazy song: Lets check exercise 2A and 2B (p. 77 WB). Personal Pronouns

Use the correct personal pronouns. Watch the words in brackets. Example: ___ often reads books. (Lisa) Answer: She often reads books. 1)………… is dreaming. (George) 2)………… is green. (the blackboard) 3)………… are on the wall. (the posters) 4)………… is running. (the dog) 5)………… are watching TV. (my mother and I) 6)………… are in the garden. (the flowers) 7)………… is riding his bike. (Tom) 8)………… is from Bristol. (Victoria) 9)………… has got a brother. (Diana) 10) Have …………. got a computer, Mandy? He It They It We They He She you Short Exercise

Articles The and a/an are called articles. We divide them into "definite" and "indefinite" like this: Definite (de / het) When you talk about one thing in particular Indefinite (een) When you talk about one thing in general Think of the sky at night: in the sky we see 1 moon and millions of stars. That’s why we say: I saw the moon last night, but: I saw a star last night.

Look! It’s our friend again :) Careful: this guy is American, so sometimes his accent (with ‘the’) is different! When do you choose ‘a’ and when ‘an’? Use ‘an’ when the next word starts with a vowel (klinker) sound. A melonAn apple A giraffeAn elephant A secondAn hour (you write it with an h, but you don’t hear the h!) The is sometimes pronounced with an ‘ie’-sound  ‘die’. You say ‘die’ when the next word starts with a vowel (klinker) sound. The nightThe evening The ballThe ice-skates

Sometimes it depends on the situation to know which word to use… We want to buy an umbrella. (Any umbrella, not a particular umbrella.) Where is the umbrella? (We already have an umbrella. We are looking for our umbrella.) First check 3A (p. 78 WB) Exercise 3B (p. 78 WB) If the article ‘the’ sounds like ‘die’ instead of ‘de’, you write an ‘i’ on the line! 1. The … password 6. The … cheap mobile 2. The … alphabet7. The… necklace 3. The … British people8. The … address 4. The … keyword9. The … crisps 5. The … safety10. The … surname

Today is … very important day; it's my birthday! I have sent … invitations, … birthday cake is on … table and I am getting ready. I choose … dress to wear and then put on my shoes. It's … beautiful day, … sun is shining and there's not … cloud in sky. I can't wait for everyone to arrive. In less than … hour, the party will begin. I look out window and see … girl, but she's not one of my friends. Where is everyone? I hope they are all coming. … doorbell rings, I open … door but see only … present wrapped in pink paper with … orange bow. Extra Exercise – Homework Choose: a / an / the

WARNING Always write YOU not U! Always write I never i! If you do these thing wrong, it will cost you points!
