About the novel- Dead Man’s Island

Carol Sanders live in England, but when she was younger, she lived in Hong Kong. Carol and her family lived in Hong Kong for seven years. She was so happy at school, with lots of friends.She liked pop music. Jake Rosso was her favorite singer. He died in a car accident. Carol was so sad, and listened to Jake Rosso’s pop records all the time. Carol’s father went to Australia on business. One the day of his journey home, an airplane from Sydney crashed into the sea just south of Hong Kong. Everybody on the plane died. Since that, Carol closed herself, and maked bad friends. Her mother taked her to go back to England. They started a new life.

They came back to England, lived in London. Her mother was recruited a job as a secretary on an island in Scotland. Carol went to a college. Greta Ross is a person in charge. She asked to Carol’s mother some questions, and entered to Carol’s mother. Carol likes gardening, so she taked care of the garden on the farm. Carol’s mother was going to be Greta Ross’s husband’s secretary. Tony is a boatman. Mr. Duncan is the gardener, and Mrs. Duncan is the housekeeper. Tony is their son. Carol enjoyed working in the garden. Carol is smart. She stayed in there more and more day. She felt many things to become strange. One day she found a private room. It was locked.

Two days later there was a storm in the middle of the night. Carol went to the private room. She found Mr. Ross coming of the room, and put the key in the plant pot next to the door. Another day everybody did their own job. Carol went into the room.

She found full of Jake Rosso’s things. When she looked careful, and she found Mr. Ross to be like Jake Rosso. Suddenly, Mr. Ross went into the room. He admitted, he is Jake Rosso. Mr. Ross said his car accident was lie. A fact, Mr. Ross’s real name is James Duncan. Everyone is his relative. His car accident was lie. He took drugs and drink a lot. He was drunk and make a car crashed.He hit someone who was just fifteen, but he didn’t stop. So his family agreed to help him. Then he faked the crash. Carol agreed to help him to keep the secret.

What I think

I think that the suspense novel is very specially. I will look from a spy's angle. I want to discover the answer fast. What is Dead Mans Island? Who is the Dead Man? I think Carol Sanders inside this story is acting a very important role.

She knows some clues one after another. I think the people in this story unusual suspiciousness. They are unable to understand. Step by step tells us the truth because of Carol Sanders.

Because she has also experienced some matters. These matters are the secrets which she wants to hide. When she knows the truth ， she chooses keep the secret for him. I think that each people have don’t want to let the secret be known. Perhaps if I am Carol Sanders ， I don’t have the courage to open the truth.
