Framework Programme 7 European Union Grant Funding for Research and Development Total funds = €54 billion Budget for Health Care = €30 billions Consortia comprising Universities, Research Institutes, and Business with bias for SMEs Projects selected on Scientific Objectives, Governance and Exploitation

Framework Programme 7 Focuses research on science led innovation De-risks medical device innovation thru funding high risk research and creating market pull, with dissemination. Encourages public/private/third sector collaboration. Drives commercial advantage for SMEs BUT DOES NOT Develop technologies/products Organise supply chains and marketing/distribution partnerships Prove commercial value Provide capital for exploitation of the research
