Leicester: partnerships, the fabulous first year and major/minor pathways Mark Peel, Provost

Working with schools and colleges a focus on effective partnerships for student success providing a range of resources and relationships: some examples of established and emerging partnerships

Fabulous first year teaching, assessment, transition to independent study and transition to independent life universal peer mentoring and student-to-student engagement the ‘learning gain’ project: developing measurements and interventions for increased success professional dispositions: entitlements, obligations, values and behaviours

A new undergraduate offer: major/minor pathways three kinds of pathways: single (one subject area), major/minor (Subject A WITH Subject B) and joint (Subject A AND Subject B) the distinctively flexible quality: students create their own major/minor combinations, and can (normally) adjust after the first year first cohort of major/minor students enrol in September, with more than forty minors in combination with new and existing discipline majors rolling out across science disciplines for applications working on ‘student journey’ for students enrolled in minors
