2 One of the strangest sights (I’ve seen in Korea) / was people (eating boiling hot samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup)) / on the hottest day of the year. In fact, / it’s a popular summer dish, / especially on very hot days. not only A but also B : A 뿐만 아니라 B 이기도 !!! A 와 B 는 병치 ( 비슷한 것끼리 연결한다 ) 구조 이기 때문에, A 에 명사가 오면 B 에도 명사가 A 에 동사가 오면 B 에도 동사가 A 에 형용사가 오면 B 에도 형용사가 오게 됨. !!! Not only 가 문두에 나오면, 주어 동사는 도치 되고 동사의 수 ( 단 / 복 ) 는 but also 이하에 일치 시킴.

not only A but also B : A 뿐만 아니라 B 이기도 !!! 생략 및 같은 표현 not only ~ but (also) 와 같이 also 는 생략 가능 not only[merely, simply, just, alone] ~ but... as well[too] 와 같이 바꿔 사용할 수 있다.

5 Happiness Delivered to Your Door When I moved to Korea, / one of the first things (my coworker taught me) was how to say my address]. I didn’t understand [why it was so important].
