Introduction

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?"

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 9 Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?"

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 10 Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

John 3:1-16 (ESV) 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

The Transformed Life: It Qualifies You For ______________ Heaven

John 3:1-6 (ESV) 1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

John 3:1-6 (ESV) 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."

John 3:1-6 (ESV) 3 Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

John 3:1-6 (ESV) 4 Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?"

John 3:1-6 (ESV) 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

John 3:1-6 (ESV) 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

The Transformed Life: It Is Powerful Evidence For The _____________ Of God Existence

John 3:7-8 (ESV) 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'

John 3:7-8 (ESV) 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

You’ve Got To Believe In Spite Of Your Intellectual __________. Pride

John 3:9-10 (ESV) 9 Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?"

John 3:9-10 (ESV) 10 Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?

Ezekiel 36:25-27 (ESV) 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.

Ezekiel 36:25-27 (ESV) 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Ezekiel 36:25-27 (ESV) 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

Corinthians 2:6-10 (ESV) 6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.

Corinthians 2:6-10 (ESV) 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.

Corinthians 2:6-10 (ESV) 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Corinthians 2:6-10 (ESV) 9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"—

Corinthians 2:6-10 (ESV) 10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 2 He was in the beginning with God.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 9 The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

John 1:1-13 (ESV) 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:18-21 (ESV) 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 3:18-21 (ESV) 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

John 3:18-21 (ESV) 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.

John 3:18-21 (ESV) 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."

You’ve Got To Believe In Spite Of Your Personal _______________. Superiority

John 3:11 (ESV) 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

Corinthians 1:18-31 (ESV) 31 so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

You’ve Got To Believe In Spite Of Your Mental _______________. Uncertainty

John 3:12 (ESV) 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

Corinthians 2:12-16 (ESV) 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

Corinthians 2:12-16 (ESV) 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

Corinthians 2:12-16 (ESV) 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

Corinthians 2:12-16 (ESV) 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.

Corinthians 2:12-16 (ESV) 16 "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

John 2:20 (ESV) 20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.

John 19:38-42 (ESV) 38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body.

John 19:38-42 (ESV) 39 Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight.

John 19:38-42 (ESV) 40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.

John 19:38-42 (ESV) 41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.

John 19:38-42 (ESV) 42 So because of the Jewish day of Preparation, since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.
