The link allows you to: Log into STELA using the STELA login option from the right hand menu. Access useful information on STELA and AVETMISS that will assist you to report your data correctly. The Student Training Enrolment Logistics Application (STELA) is an online application for training providers to complete their AVETMISS Reporting Requirements. All organisations delivering Nationally Recognised training to South Australian Students are required to report their data in STELA to meet their AVETMISS reporting requirements. Exemptions for reporting are detailed on the next page. If, the training you deliver is not listed on the next page you will be expected to report your training data for each quarter by the deadline. First Quarter 1 January – 31 March REPORTING DEADLINE 26 th April Second Quarter 1 April – 30 June REPORTING DEADLINE 19 th July Third Quarter 1 July – 30 September REPORTING DEADLINE 11 th October Fourth Quarter 1 October – 31 December REPORTING DEADLINE 31 st January 3

Total VET Activity in AVETMISS 7 compliant system Who must report Total VET Activity from 1 January 2014? RTO’s delivering both publically funded and full fee paying nationally accredited training Who is Exempt from Reporting AVETMISS Data? Full Exemption National security, border protection and policing orgs - security Part Exemption – less student profile information Emergency, fire and rescue service organisations – certain training Enterprise registered training organisations – certain training Short Stand-alone accredited units/modules as listed <8 hours

Rules for resulting Outcomes for Nationally Accredited Training OutcomeActual HoursRule 20 – Competency achieved/pass Between The client has been assessed and satisfies all the requirements for the unit of competency or module. 30 – Competency not achieved/fail Between The client has attempted all of the requirements for the assessment and been assessed as not competent, or as not satisfying one or more of the requirements for the unit of competency or accredited module. 40 – Withdrawn/ discontinued Between Withdrawn result is used when a client has engaged in some learning activity before completing all of the assessment criteria for the unit or accredited module. 51 – Recognition of prior learning granted Between The client has undergone an RPL/RCC assessment process and recognition of prior learning has been granted. 52 – Recognition of prior learning not granted Between The client has undergone an RPL/RCC assessment process and recognition of prior learning has not been granted. 60 – Credit transfer/ national recognition 0 hours Credit Transfer is credit given for a unit of Competency or accredited module where a student has previously trained and been deemed formally competent in the same unit either with the same RTO or another RTO (Mutual Recognition) 70 – Continuing enrolment Between Continuing Enrolment should be used where the client has engaged in learning activity in a unit but has not completed all assessment criteria for that unit by the end of the collection period. 90 – Not yet available Between This code is not valid in data submissions for the final annual National VET Provider Collection. Not Yet Available is a valid outcome only during a calendar year. If a student has engaged in learning activity in this unit and has not completed all assessment criteria by the end of the collection period the outcome should be recorded as Continuing Enrolment. Not Started0 hoursThis is a State Training Authority outcome which indicates that there has been no engagement in learning activity for the unit.

Rules for resulting Outcomes for Non-Accredited Training OutcomeActual HoursRule 81 – Non-assessable enrolment – satisfactorily completed Between The client has completed the program of study in a way that satisfies the requirements of the training organisation. 82 – Non-assessable enrolment – withdrawn or not satisfactorily completed Between The client has not completed the program of study in a way that satisfies the requirements of the training organisation or the client has withdrawn after engaging in the program’s activities. 70 – Continuing enrolment Between Continuing Enrolment should be used where the client has engaged in learning activity in a unit but has not completed all assessment criteria for that unit by the end of the collection period. Not Started0 hoursThis is a State Training Authority outcome which indicates that there has been no engagement in learning activity for the unit.

RPL Credit Transfer) RPL - should be used when the student us undertaking an RPL process to complete a unit Credit Transfer – should be used when the student has successfully completed the same unit in a previous qualification. Must record the actual hours taken to undertake assessment process Must not result against the same unit in the same qualification more than once Must be after the date student issued Competency Achieved for the same unit in another qualification

Actual Hours v Nominal Hours: Nominal Hours Designated by Curriculum Developers as a guide They represent the nominated hours that it could take to train a student in a particular unit Actual Hours Are what you enter into STELA either via direct data entry or uploading. Actual Hours represent the actual hours spent training the student in classroom In the workplace - hours of total training in work place For RPL use the time taken for assessment
