Activity: What are the steps to reclassify ELs? 1. Count off from 1 to 3 2. Read the section in REF – that corresponds to your number 3. During reading, complete the Flow Map for the corresponding numbered section 4. “Section Experts” identify key procedures with team 5. Use the shared information to complete your Flow Map 6. Table group share-out

Overall annual CELDT: 4/5 (3+ on all subskills); CST/ELA: Basic or Above; ELA Mark: 3+ in all domains Printout Eligibility Roster to identify ELs that are potentially eligible EL Coordinator reviews roster and identifies students that have marks of 3+ in L, S, R, & W in ELA 1 st & 2 nd grade confirm & document 3 consecutive PA scores of 3 + Coordinator prints parent Notification of Reclassification letter Letter will print both in English & Spanish. For other languages, the letter must be completed by hand File a copy in a Reclassification Binder until a signed copy is received; file the signed copy in the Master Plan Folder If the letter is not returned, school must make a reasonable effort to contact parents documenting dates called Once the student reclassifies, enter the date teacher or LAT judged student is ready for the Mainstream program A reclassification label must be printed and affixed to the student’s cumulative record HANDOUT 2 Pg. ___
