How to find the training venues

Navigation Training day Rivington 11 th June 2016 or 12 th June 2016 or 19 th June 2016

If driving through Adlington from Chorley, at the traffic light junction turn LEFT up the hill. You will pass the Bay Horse pub at the top of the hill. Continue over the M61, as the road bends the the right follow until your first LEFT turn. Follow this road until it bends to the right at Rivington Village. Stay on this road passed the car park for the Lower Barn. We will meet at the car park on the right hand side about 1 minutes drive from the Lower Barn. The car park will be on your RIGHT If you see Rivington and Blackrod school on your left you have gone too far.

Practice Expeditions Bowley Scout Camp – Great Harwood 26 th -27 th June 2016 or 3 rd – 4 th June 2016

From Jn 7 of the M65 head East on the A680 to Clayton-Le-Moore. At the cross roads turn left to continue on the A680. Follow this road until your see the LEFT turn for Great Harwood, with the Texico Petrol station just ahead on your left.

After turning LEFT before the Petrol station continue straight on at every junction until you reach the top of the hill. At the * there is a significant bend and the lane for the campsite is on the RIGHT. This is a narrow lane leading down to the camp site so drive cautiously. *

Qualifying Expeditions Bowley Scout Camp – Great Harwood 10 th - 11 th July 2016 or 17 th – 18 th July 2016

The easy one! Get to Jn 27 of the M6 at Standish. Head towards Parbold. Stay on that road past Parbold and through Newburgh, Tawd Vale Scout camp will be on your left. It is on a bend so keep an eye out, if you pass it you will have to drive for a short while before you can turn safely.
