 Certification Differential for NX- Ambulatory will follow the same policy as inpatient nursing.   Effective date for the differential is based on the manager’s signature date on the application.  The application must be submitted with a valid copy of the certification or it will not be processed until furnished by the RN. A valid copy includes a certification number from the provider and include the expiration date.  The RN is responsible for presenting proof of renewal.  RN with a career appointment must be appointed at least 50% or more and must work in the specialty in which the certification applies.

 Per Diem RNs must have an appointment of 50% or more to be eligible and must work in the specialty in which the certification applies. o To be eligible for the certification differential pay (CDF), a per diem RN must work 1,000 hours or more, exclusive of overtime hours, in a rolling 12 month period. o It is the responsibility of the Per Diem RN to notify their manager that he/she has 1,000 or more paid worked hours and is eligible for the CDFpay.  The nurse is responsible to check their pay stub within 60 days of submission to HR to verify that the certification differential is being paid. The RN is responsible in notifying the appropriate WFA/HR Representative if payment is not received. No retroactive pay past 60 days will be provided.  An alert will be displayed in the HBS homepage when the CDF expires within the next two quadri-weekly cycles (8 weeks) and within the next quadri-weekly cycle (4 weeks).

Payroll Reminder  If you have an employee who is separating, the final timesheet must be approved before Hospital Payroll can proceed with processing the final paycheck.  If you are releasing an employee during probationary period, o Since you do not want the employee to know he/she is being separated, you can forward the hours to your Payroll Representative via an . Do not approve the timesheet prior to her last day. o We will not request direct deposit of the final check. Payroll Services sends an notification prior to the deposit. The employee will then be on notice that she is being separated. o We can request a paper check. Payroll Services can have the check ready on the employee’s final day IF everything is submitted and processed in EDB by 11 am, at least 2 days before the separation date.
