What is a Quadrilateral?

Finding the Missing Angles How is the Triangle Angle Sum Theorem based on the measure of a straight angle? The sum of the interior angles of any triangle equals 180°. Similarly, the measure of a straight angle (line) equals 180°. When the 3 interior angles of a triangle are added together, they form a straight angle (or line)

2. How can we find missing angle measures in triangles and how can this knowledge be used to solve real world problems? Using the Triangle Angle Sum Theorem, write an equation showing the sum of the three angles equals 180°, with the unknown angle being represented by the variable. We can confirm that without using algebra, the two known interior angles are added together, then that sum is subtracted from 180°.

Dreaded Word Problems…. 1. Juan’s teacher told them to draw a quadrilateral with just 1 pair of parallel sides. Which shape did he draw? a.Rectangle b.Trapezoid c.Rhombus d.Parallelogram 2. Which of the following sets contains only shapes that have 4 right angles? a.square, trapezoid b.square, rhombus c.square, triangle d.square, rectangle

No Not More… 3. Which of the following sets has only 1 parallelogram listed? a.rectangle, trapezoid b.rhombus, square c.square, rectangle d.rhombus, square 4. Bonita drew two shapes in her notebook. The first shape was a parallelogram with 4 right angles but not 4 equal sides. The 2nd shape was not a quadrilateral. Which of the following lists what she could have drawn in her notebook? a.A square and then a hexagon b.A rhombus and then a triangle c.A rectangle and then a hexagon d.A square and then a rhombus
