On Common Ground Magazine  Programs to distribute OCG to legislative and regulatory leaders in your community: Bulk Distribution – Deliver to your elected officials directly. Mailed Program – Provide address and magazine is shipped directly to your officials.  No charge to the local or state association for this service!

Land Use Initiative  Makes available the services of one of the nations top land use law firms to provide analysis of proposed laws and regulations.  No charge to the local or state associations for this service.  Since 1999, over 500 ordinances have been reviewed.  Easy to use process.

Shared GAD Program  Provides facilitation and advisory services to assist state and local associations hire professional government affairs representation.  Have helped develop over 49 programs in 14 states.

Customized State Smart Growth Legislation  Program assists state REALTOR ® associations in writing legislation that furthers Smart Growth goals.  NAR and the State Association share the cost of this service  Eminent Domain legislation

Smart Growth Polling Program  NAR conducts national surveys to gauge public opinion on growth, land use transportation, and related community issues.  NAR also partners with state and local associations that want to conduct their own opinion polls.  NAR and the state/local association split the cost

Smart Growth E-Newsletter  E-newsletter available on the NAR Smart Growth website.  Covers developments in Smart Growth for all 50 states.  Available to REALTORS® free of charge.

Transportation, Education and Smart Growth Toolkits  Written to help REALTORS ® get involved in community issues.  Includes tutorials on the issues and real-life examples of how other associations dealt with issues.  Three toolkits for Smart Growth: Smart Growth Toolkit Public Schools Toolkit Transportation Toolkit

Smart Growth Action Grants  Provides up to $5,000 for local and state association smart growth activities.  Applications accepted twice a year in April and October (10/3).  Grants used for smart growth seminars, bus tours, coalitions, website to market homes in older neighborhoods.  Grant Program part of Partnership with Diversity and Housing Opportunity

Strategic Planning Assistance  NAR will assist state and local associations that wish to increase their activities and effectiveness in Smart Growth related issues  The local and state associations “drive” the ideas and the program.

Cultural Diversity & Fair Housing  At Home with Diversity Course  Fair Housing  Outreach to Minority Real Estate Organizations  Diversity Initiative Grants

At Home with Diversity Course  NAR Certificate Program.  Fair Housing Continuing Education.  Credit toward CIPS, CRS, and PMN designation.  Over 26,000 REALTORS® have earned the At Home with Diversity certificate.  Over 150 associations sponsor the program.

Diversity Toolkit for REALTOR® Associations  Diversity toolkit provides information on how to start or enhance a diversity program at the local level. Includes case studies and diversity research.  NAR can provide assistance for strategic planning and diversity activities through a matching fund grant program.

Housing Opportunity  Ambassadors for Cities  “Home From Work”  Housing Opportunity Grants  Ambassadors for Cities  “Home From Work”  Housing Opportunity Grants

Ambassadors for Cities  Creating partnerships between REALTORS® & Mayors to promote housing opportunities.  Result of partnership with USCM.  Goal: Encourage new partnerships between Mayors and local Realtors to expand housing opportunities.  $5,000 - $10,000 grant from NAR.

Home from Work™  The Home From Work program encourages REALTORS® to become advocates for expanding housing opportunities.  The program teaches REALTORS® how to effectively promote workforce housing initiatives at the grassroots level.  Work with public and private-sector employers to establish an employer assisted housing (EAH) benefit.
