Карточка учителя – собеседника (экзаменатора) Warm up 1.Do you have any plans for the future? 2.When did you begin making plans for the future? 3.Are you going to work or study? INTERLOCUTOR CARD Let the student talk for 1,5-2 minutes. Ask only those questions which the student has not covered: 1.Have you decided on your career? 2.Do your plans for the future have anything in common with these photos? 3.What would you like to achieve after you leave school? 4.Is success important to you? Why/Why not? 5.Does success mean the same as happiness? Why/Why not? Finally, you should ask each student the following: Does anybody help you to make the choice? Would you rather have a dull well-paid job or an interesting but poorly-paid job? SKILLS TO BE TESTED: The student is expected to demonstrate her/his ability to: - speak at length elaborating on the topic; - produce coherent utterances; - give reasons; - use accurate grammar structures and a good range of vocabulary appropriate to the context and function.

Key: When you leave school you understand that the time to decide on your career has come. It’s not an easy task for a young person to make up your mind and give a definite answer about your future profession. I have asked myself the question about my plans for the future a lot of times, but I haven’t decided yet what I am going to be. At the same time, I’m sure that my first aim is to enter the Institute or University and get good education. I also have a dream and want to realize it and become a happy person. I’m sure happiness is when you are a successful person. What is success? Even these photos show us different kinds of success: the top picture on the left shows us a girl who graduated from the university and got a diploma, the picture on the right shows us a world-famous actress who starred in many films and the bottom picture on the right shows us a man who is dreaming of winning a lottery. Different things are the most important ones in achieving these people’s success, but they are happy because their dreams have come true. Undoubtedly, I have a lot in common with these people. I also would like to become a successful and happy person. As for me, I also have a dream and want to realize it and become a happy person. I haven’t decided yet what I am going to be, but my first aim is to enter the Institute or University and get good education. But, at the same time, if you have only a dream, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be able to make your dreams come true, and become a movie star, or start a successful business. Whatever your dream is, the most important things are to work hard, work well and have a positive belief in your own talents. More than that, it’s important to try to get better all the time instead of just worrying about your weak points. If a person follows these tips, he will be proud of his achievements. When you do well, this will inspire you to achieve even more!
