Can we read fun books and learn important skills incorporating their themes? Unit Questions

 What can we do to keep the Earth clean?  How can math be a part of our everyday lives?  Can you read a story and understand the unspoken meaning(s)?  Can you use creative thinking to come up with your own ideas about things?  Is it important to know the author to understand their books? Content Questions

 Who is Dr. Seuss and what is he famous for?  What is the quarter of an hour?  When in the real world do you see fractions?  Why was the Grinch mean and how did he finally become caring?  How can recycling keep the environment healthy? Day 1 Plan

Content Question: Who is Dr. Seuss and what is he famous for?  Watch “Dr Seuss: Rhymes and Reasons” YouTube.com video“Dr Seuss: Rhymes and Reasons”  In Computer Lab, students will complete Dr. Seuss Scavenger Hunt.Dr. Seuss Scavenger Hunt  Students will use Microsoft Word to type their answers, then print.
