Essay 3 You can write an analytical essay that uses one of these three approaches: Cultural criticism. In this kind of essay you will interpret the video and the comments in terms of what it reveals about the YouTuber or about the audience. Technical evaluation. In this kind of essay you will either evaluate techniques presented in the video or interpret the video for an audience that is not familiar with the subject of the video. Cross-cultural comparison. In this kind of essay you will compare and contrast the meaning of the video for people from different cultural backgrounds.

Essay 3 Your initial research will be research about the comments on your video. You should create a separate document and copy comments into the document that you believe will be important. In your drafts you should include direct quotations from comments, and if a comment is short you should include the whole of the comment.

Your research question will likely ask a question similar to this one: What does the video and the response to the video reveal about a particular segment of the audience? Technical evaluation. Your research question will likely ask a question similar to this one: Would I recommend this video to others who are seeking to accomplish a particular task? Cross-cultural comparison. Your research question will likely ask a question similar to this one: What does the video mean for an audience with a US cultural background and what does it mean for an audience with a specific cultural background outside of the US?
